About the Embassy

The Embassy functions with the key focus on serving the large number of Sri Lankan expatriates who work and live across the Kingdom, while serving the various needs of Saudi nationals and non-Sri Lankan expatriates. The Consular Division, Employment/Labour Division (SLBFE), and Trade, Tourism and Investment Division provide a range of services to people with different needs and interests. The Embassy in Riyadh and the Consulate General Office in Jeddah — supplemented by periodic mobile consular visits to other areas of the Kingdom — continue to serve the Sri Lankan community spread far and wide. The Consulate General in Jeddah plays a significant role in facilitating Hajj and Umrah pilgrims from Sri Lanka.

The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Riyadh is the official diplomatic mission of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Its central focus is to serve the large Sri Lankan community living and working across the Kingdom, while advancing the friendship and cooperation between the two countries and supporting the interests of Saudi nationals and other partners.

The Mission delivers its services through three main divisions — the Consular Division, the Employment & Labour Division (in coordination with the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment), and the Trade, Tourism & Investment Division — covering passports, visas, civil registration, citizenship, migrant-worker welfare, and the promotion of bilateral trade, tourism and investment.

The Embassy in Riyadh, together with the Consulate General in Jeddah and periodic mobile consular services to outlying regions, ensures that Sri Lankan nationals across the Kingdom can access timely and reliable assistance. The Consulate General in Jeddah also plays a key role in facilitating Sri Lankan Hajj and Umrah pilgrims. The Embassy and its staff are committed to professional, accountable and people-centred service for every member of the community.
